“Elysium is sparse, classic, relatively unavant-garde, rather calm in its depiction of the essence of musical experience. This approach allowed us to build pieces that, in my opinion, are organic, not overcomplicated. Maciej’s important suggestion was not to “pretend” live drums, but to boldly use
electronics within our sound spectrum. It’s just how it is, the true message is the most valuable. Of course, today electronics also means
samples, which don’t “pretend” to be an orchestra or a piano, but play with a warm, organic sound, in a way specific to new electronics. Because today, electronics have long ceased to be synonymous with cold, soulless textures. It’s a field of experimentation, but also a field of searching for harmony, warmth, and depth. The Elysium cycle forms a narrative whole, leading us along the path to our desired goal. Maciej’s playing and mine blend organically and harmoniously here. We hope you enjoy Elysium!” Robert Kanaan
